The "Purple Rain" house for sale might be a dream come true for die-hard Prince fans who happen to have $110,000. Made famous by Prince in the movie "Purple Rain", the 1913-built home in South Minneapolis is being sold at the bargain price of $110K.
The "Purple Rain" house for sale has three bedrooms and is located on 3420 Snelling Avenue in Minneapolis. Though Prince never actually lived in the home featured in the film, the price it's listed at is a bargain. However, the listing from Coldwell Banker did say that it needs some renovations.
At the listing, Coldwell says the house's floors, walls, kitchen, and bathrooms need some work. On the plus side though, the house offers considerable woodwork. Its location, less than an hour from Lake Minnetonka, is also a plus for those who are fond of swimming.
"Revitalize this historic home which Prince featured in his Purple Rain Movie. This home needs to be rehabbed. Newer boiler in 2010. Close to Light Rail on a quiet street in the Longfellow neighborhood. Buyer to assume any R & R's on the TISH," it says in the listing.
The "Purple Rain" house for sale is not to be confused though with the one Prince has built Lake Riley in Minnesota. Bulldozed in 2003, that "Purple Rain" house was built by Prince through money he earned from his 1984 album, according to The Inquisitr.
The demolition of that "Purple Rain" house may have been redue to a clash over the death of Prince's father, according to the Star-Tribune.
It also signaled for Prince to move away from his home state. He has since relocated to Toronto. Two years prior to the Purple Rain house being torn down, Prince lost both his mother and father.
The "Purple Rain" house for sale now is the one where "The Kid" resided with his parents in the iconic 1984 movie, "Purple Rain." The film tells the story of a self-destructive musician trying to change for the better and become a rock star. While "Purple Rain" marked Prince's big-screen debut and has made it big at the box office, its soundtrack was on top of the Billboard charts for 24 weeks, according to Yahoo! News.
