The 29-year-old pop star Lady Gaga posted several photos on instagram of herself wearing a nude bodysuit with three pairs of Alexander McQueen armadillo boots. And Lady Gaga said, "Long Live McQueen. Look monsters, we got a sign of love from the beyond."
During a modeling show, by contract the models were obligated to wear Alexander McQueen's Armadillo boots down the runway, and Lady Gaga was one of the only woman who has gotten her hands on three pairs of the shoes.
As the original designer of the shoes passed away (Alexander McQueen a British fashion designer and couturier), at Christie's New York, three pairs of the claw heels were up for auction from July 14 to 23, and the profits from the bidding are donated to UNICEF's relief efforts in Nepal. This is for the recent earthquake victims. The bidding of the shoes was estimated to reach $10,000 to $15,000 each, but the result goes way too far, as it fetched $295,000. Lady Gaga revealed that her fiancé, the American actor and model, Taylor Kinney bought the shoes.
Lady Gaga shared on Instagram a photo of herself in a nude onesie and zipping up the 12-inch heels that were made as showpieces by McQueen.Lady Gaga posted, "When a gift comes to you from Heaven photo by Taylor Kinney best fiancé ever."
However, Lady Gaga has previous experiences wearing the shoes in the "Bad Romance" video and in the 2010 VMAs.
Lady Gaga was spotted wearing the emerald green pair Sunday, as the American singer, songwriter, and actress, exited her New York City hotel, where she had a performance with U2 at Madison Square Garden.
The singer Lady Gaga and the designer were close friends. Lady Gaga actually purchased a McQueen gown for $133,075 that was up for auction at Christie's in London, where the proceeds from the event went to the Isabella Blow Foundation, created in honor of the late fashion editor.
