Police Suspects Conspiracy on Lil Wayne Shooting: 1 Suspect Denies, 1 in Jail

Last April, while on concert tour, the buses of Lil Wayne were shot while travelling on the freeway.  Nobody was hurt. The police, in an update of their investigation, have reason to implicate Birdman and his companions for the crime.  Birdman denies any involvement, vows to Lil Wayne he will help find the real perpetrator.

Birdman is Bryan Williams in real life. He used to be a partner of Lil Wayne in Cash Money Records, but a fight about money has ended their collaboration. They have been enemies since then.

Police have phone records that showed calls made before and after the shooting. It is believed Winfrey called Young Thug before the shooting, and then called Birdman right after the incident. According to witnesses, a car pulled up near the buses and opened fire. Police have arrested Jimmy Carlton Winfrey, former tour manager of Birdman, and have charged him for the shooting.

There are allegations of conspiracy among different people, as reported by Daily Mail:  Birdman, Winfrey and Young Thug, real name Jeffrey Williams. All three, and even Lil Wayne, are under suspicion as members of the Blood Gang.

Apparently, the bad blood started when in Atlanta, while Young Thug was performing; the crowd booed him, and shouted for Lil Wayne instead. Just before Lil Wayne's two buses hit the road, they were in a club, and Winfrey was thrown out for allegedly harassing Lil Wayne. In that same night, police found an assault rifle in Winfrey's car, and tried to detain him, but he fled.

Police have searched the house of Young Thug, and needed warrants for felony cocaine, marijuana and gun possession. Last Wednesday, the rapper was arrested on a separate charge, not related to Lil Wayne, of threatening to shoot a mall guard. He has been release on a $ 10,000 bail.
