'Street Fighter V': New Characters Will Be Available For Free

Capcom has announced new rules regarding the post-launch content of the highly anticipated fighting video game Street Fighter V during a panel at Evo 2015. The game developer will enable gamers to obtain upgrades, updates and other downloadable items by simply playing the game.

Instead of releasing different versions of the game, Capcom revealed that there will only be one original disc version of Street Fighter V. The new characters, improvements and adjustments will be regularly added as downloadable content.

'Street Fighter V' is targeted to be released on March 2016 with 16 playable characters. Four of the total fighters are new to the Street Fighter universe. All-time favorite fighters from the previous version of the game will still be present like Ryu, Chun-Li, Ken, Cammy and M. Bison along with Birdie and Charlie Nash.

More characters will be revealed regularly which gamers can unlock by either playing the game or purchasing the content. This is good news to all gamers because they can earn any post-launch characters for free just through gameplay.

Players can these new characters for free using two different currencies. One is the Fight Money, a basic currency which can be earned and accumulated by playing the game. The other one is a premium currency called Zenny which can be acquired using real money. This is ideal for players who want to access and enjoy the items and updates immediately.

Previous versions of the fighting game include full-game updates like 'Street Fighter IV' in 2008, 'Super Fighter IV' and 'Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition' in 2010, and the 'Ultra Street Fighter IV' in 2004.

Capcom is now shifting into offering fans a more competitive environment so the latter can avoid losing interest in the game. As written on the official blog site of PlayStation, this new process is more interactive and motivates players to engag even more.

'Street Fighter V' will be available next year for PC and PlayStation 4.
