Blue Bell Creameries 2015: Texan Oil Tycoon Billionaire Sid Bass REALLY Wants Brenham Ice Cream Back After Listeria Recalls

If there's one person in the entirety of Texas that's really putting his money where his mouth is about Blue Bell Creameries' 2015 return to business after the massive listeria scandal earlier this year, it's oil tycoon and billionaire Sid Bass, who has just partnered up with the iconic Southern ice cream company.

Following weeks of issues over listeria being traced back to different Blue Bell Creameries 2015 factories, the company shut down operations for months as they cleaned their venues thoroughly and developed a new system for tracing bacteria, laying off a number of employees in the meantime - but they have at least one major backer now in Bass.

According to The Wall Street Journal, last Tuesday the ice cream company announced Bass' involvement in the Blue Bell Creameries 2015 renewal, becoming a partner in the company, which has traditionally (in its over one hundred years of existence) been family-owned.

Before his Blue Bell Creameries 2015 involvement, Mr. Bass' many business ventures have included having been a major investor for the Walt Disney Company for years, besides managing his own oil and gas fortune for many years.

"We are pleased Sid Bass has made a significant investment with our company," Paul Kruse, the Blue Bell Creameries 2015 CEO and president, said in a statement, USA Today reports. "The additional capital will ensure the successful return of our ice cream to the market and our loyal customers."

As CNBC reports, Bass' involvement with Blue Bell Creameries 2015 is something of a life-saver for Blue Bell, after they were involved in a major food safety scandal last spring that prompted them to recall all their products in late April, after the Listeria monocytogenes bacteria was found in their premises - something the FDA said they'd been aware of for years before anyone was infected.
