Amy Schumer of Trainwreck's Take on Funny Females in Hollywood

The Trainwreck star Amy Schumer made a joke when she was asked about the current status of funny women in Hollywood. The actress leaned in as she whispered in a mischievous way, that they actually have secret 'Lady Meetings'.

Amy Schumer also said that, when the comedy movie Spy of Melissa McCarthy beat down Dwayne Johnson's San Andreas action film to second place in the box office, it was like as if the summertime belongs to women. She added that they are to take over and push the men out of the summer scene.

Schumer laughed it off easily saying that women are ruling the box office this summer more so when the latest movie of Melissa McCarthy Spy and Pitch Perfect 2 sideswiped Mad Max: Fury Road.

Judd Apatow, director of Trainwreck said it must be because the Bridesmaids is  finally bearing fruit, and opened the way to the recent female-led comedies boost.

Director Judd Apatow stated, "It takes a few years to catch up," and added, "But it's fun, because I have a movie this summer and Paul Feig, who directed Bridesmaids, has a movie this summer and they're both female-driving movies. We're carrying the torch forward."

A study from the Center for the Study of Women in Television and Film, stated that the problem came from the gender inequality behind the camera and in the boardroom. That has been the case for the past 17 years where the top-grossing films directed by women actually declined.

But as for Amy Schumer in Trainwreck, her screenplay will never fail to act in creating her character, that of a bawdy, hard-drinking, take-charge woman who stumbles reluctantly into a romantic relationship.

Amy Schumer stated, "In a lot of the portrayals of women that I've seen in movies, they're not treated like a human. It's more of this idea of an old model of a woman. So I just wanted to write something and be in something that told a story of an actual human being just doing her best, but messing up left and right. "
