Pacific Rim 2 Starts Filming in November

The soft opening of Pacific Rim in the U.S. box office did well enough at the international box office to deserve a sequel. The film earned slightly above break even for a worldwide box office of $411 million

According to director Guillermo del Toro, the sci-fi movie Pacific Rim 2 had taken a big leap forward, as it will begin filming in November. The director said, despite several production delays and changes in the movie's release dates, they are now quickly moving forward with the sequel.

Director Guillermo del Toro teased, that Pacific Rim 2 will have a great storyline with an epic battle at the end of the movie.

Director Guillermo del Toro also stated, "We are deep into designing the robots, the Kaijus...having fun planning the battles. We have an epic battle at the end of this that we started to design a couple of weeks ago," del Toro also said: "We've been up for about three or four months designing, and we start shooting in November."

Pacific Rim 2 plot details are still insufficient, however, there are speculations that the upcoming film's plot will take place a few years after the events of the sequel. Kaiju and the alternate dimensions from which the monsters came will have more focus on the story and there's a great possibility that they will come back to earth to have a great battle against the robots.

There were no words out about the Pacific Rim 2 cast, but familiar faces will definitely come back, as the director indicates something indirectly that the movie might bring back Charlie Day as Dr. Newton Geiszler and Burn Gorman as Gottlieb. Jaeger pilots like Charlie Hunnam's Raleigh Beckett and Rinko Kikuchi's Mako Mori might not come back for the film.

Pacific Rim 2 is slated to be released on August 4, 2017.
