[WATCH] Jared Leto's The Joker Promises Violence In The 'Suicide Squad' Comic-Con Trailer [VIDEO]

One of the best perks about attending San Diego Comic-Con is getting a first-look at clips and trailers for upcoming movies. Fans got to see never-before-seen footage for films like 'Warcraft' and 'Deadpool,' which both unveiled trailers that have not yet been released anywhere else.

The one trailer that drove fans crazy was for the DC anti-hero flick 'Suicide Squad.' There were screams and cheers as the clip showed Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) hanging upside down in her cell. Then the appearance of The Joker (Jared Leto) just drove Hall H nuts.

Several leaked copies of the trailer surfaced online, however all were poor quality recordings from Hall H. The poor quality of the videos probably didn't sit too well with Warner Bros., because they decided to release the 'Suicide Squad' Comic-Con trailer in HD.

The trailer opens with Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) having dinner and announcing her plan to send criminals on a dangerous mission. Her plan is questioned. "What makes you think you can control them?" Amanda's response was eerie: "Because getting people to act against their own self-interest is what I do for a living."

The clip also offers a first look at Harley Quinn, El Diablo (Jay Hernandez), Deadshot (Will Smith), Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Slipknot (Adam Beach), Katana (Karen Fukuhara), Enchantress (Cara Delevingne) and Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman).

The characters reference to themselves in the trailer. Deadshot remarks, "So that's it, huh? We're the patsies. We're some kind of 'Suicide Squad.'"

The 'Suicide Squad' Comic-Con trailer also offers a better look at Jared Leto as The Joker. The actor's appearance is creepy and violent as he assures his victim, "I'm not gonna kill you. I'm just gonna hurt you. Really, really bad."

'Suicide Squad' is directed by David Ayer and also stars Scott Eastwood, Common and Jim Parrack. The film is scheduled for release on August 5, 2016.
