The late CEO, which started leading the company in the year 2012, was responsible for the success of Nintendo in the early 2000s with the release of the Wii console. Under his administration, the company was able to develop hit games like Pokemon, Kirby, Smash Bros and The Legend of Zelda.
Fans recognized the hard work of the late president who showed his dedication in providing quality gaming products to the players. Iwata's devotion came from his personal love for gaming.
As he once stated, "On my business card, I am a corporate president. In my mind, I am a game developer. But in my heart, I am a gamer."
The multinational gaming company is still mourning the death of their CEO. Yesterday, the company posted on social media that it will temporarily stop posting updates to pay their respects to Satoru Iwata.
