Nintendo and DeNA Strike Deal To Develop Five Mobile Games

DeNA, a mobile portal provider has revealed its agreement with the gaming company Nintendo to develop five different mobile games. Shintaro Asako, CEO of DeNA has confirmed that one of the five games will be released to the market before the year ends.

The five games will be from different game genres and will be released before March 2017. Both companies agree to use different IPs for each game and will make sure that they will entice millions of gamers to support the upcoming products.

The Nintendo Wii maker has been open about its plan to expand to mobile gaming. The deal with DeNA seems to be a wise for the gaming company to fulfil its goal. The company's CEO Satoru Iwata has initially revealed that they will focus on a long-term commitment to mobile gaming instead of just issuing high volume games.

"I understand some people like RPGs, casual games. That's why we decided to work together to create five games, hitting on different genre-utilizing IP," the CEO of DeNA stated.

Asako admits that the partnership with Nintendo is the most crucial deal DeNA has ever made. The CEO is challenged because many are expecting good outcomes.

Nintendo first disclosed the agreement with DeNa last March but has not revealed enough information during the time. DeNA's expertise is what the gaming company needs in order to dominate in the mobile gaming industry.

However, the company expressed its dislike over DeNA's "free to play" label, which is the main source of revenue of the company. This proves that the gaming console developer still wants to remain faithful to the legacy of its brand.

Nintendo has been working hard to maintain its sales. Expanding to mobile gaming is somehow one of the strategies of the company to stay on top.
