Director Paul Feig took to his Twitter on Tuesday night to show off the newest edition to the Ghostbusters reboot cast - the Ecto-1 car.
The car is definitely paying homage to the original design, while still bringing something new to the film. Paul Tweeted a photo of the car’s front, with the caption “#whattheygonnadrive.”

When a fan asked him for a picture of the back of the car, he happily obliged, “Okay,” he responded, posting a pic which revealed the rear bumper and license plate and showed the Ghostbusters logo and a more muted red-and-white color scheme.

The first Ghostbusters' Ecto-1 borrowed the flowing, organic-looking chassis of a 1959 Cadillac Professional.
The new vehicle looks boxier than the original, losing the Cadillac's tail fins, but maintaining its side-mounted ladder and array of sirens and lights.
The new version of the Ecto-1 has retained the iconic red and white color combo and the classic Ghostbusters' logo. It even even includes a set of antenna.
However, while the vintage car may have been replaced with a newer model, the Ecto-1 is hardly a car from the future.
Instead the all-female team, which consists of Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones, will be heading to ghost emergencies in what appears to be a Cadillac from the Eighties.

Feig has already faced a minor backlash from fans on Twitter who fear the new Ecto-1 is too different, but as shown by his obsessively detailed proton pack breakdown, the director has certainly pored through old Ghostbusters design documents.
Before Paul even shared the pics, it was already a revealing few days for Ghostbusters. Deadline confirmed that Neil Casey, who has appeared on 'Veep' and 'Broad City,' will play the movie’s bad guy.

Filming is already underway on the new movie, with the female-dominated cast seen in the flesh, for the first time last month as they acted out scenes on the Boston, Massachusetts set.
The Ghostbusters remake will hit theaters on July 22, 2016.
