Tom Hiddleston Stays With 'Kong: Skull Island' While Michael Keaton and J.K. Simmons Abandon Movie [VIDEO]

No man is an island, unless you're Tom Hiddleston.

The English actor is the only star who is still signed on to the monster prequel 'Kong: Skull Island,' since two of the movie's leads have decided to bow out of the project.

Deadline has just reported that Michael Keaton and J.K. Simmons have left 'Kong: Skull Island.' There are speculations that the actors have abandoned the film due to scheduling problems.

The monster movie was initially scheduled to start filming in fall this year, but has been moved back to the end of the year.

Keaton has just won a Golden Globe award for his performance in 'Birdman' while Simmons nabbed the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for 'Whiplash.' Due to their wins, the actors may be in talks for other films and were not ready to commit to the unpredictable filming of the King Kong prequel.

Meanwhile, Tom Hiddleston has previously expressed his excitement about being a part of 'Kong: Skull Island.' In an interview with Red Carpet News, the 'Crimson Peak' star revealed the reason why he immediately signed on.

"Well, really it was [director] Jordan Vogt-Roberts has such an extraordinary vision," he said. "His story which I know he hasn't revealed to anyone yet is 'King Kong' is a King Kong movie you've never seen before."

"It's very ambitious and epic and fresh and new in his vision and design and the characters are amazing," Hiddleston added. "The chance to work with legendary again, who made 'Crimson Peak,' and I love what they did with 'Godzilla,' there are number of things, but it's more of working with Jordan particularly, his idea is amazing and the story and the script and the studio so yeah, it's a very easy yes."

'Kong: Skull Island' is scheduled for release on March 10, 2017.
