Rick Ross Released From Jail After Paying $2 Million Bond

American rapper Rick Ross, who was arrested on June 24 for alleged assault and kidnapping, has just been released from jail on Wednesday morning, July 1, after paying $2 million.

Ross was under arrest at his mansion in Atlanta by the US marshals fugitive task forces and deputies on June 24, Wednesday, and was brought to the Fayette County Jail, Fayetteville, South Atlanta.

The 39-year old rapper is facing charges of assault, kidnapping and aggravated battery. His bodyguard, Nadrian James, who was with him when the arrest took place, was also detained while facing the same charges.

After paying the $2 million bond for bail, Ross was released and agreed to a 24-hour electronic GPS monitoring, as ordered by the court.

Supervisor Jim Joyner of the marshals' Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, told the press that Ross and his bodyguard James, were brought into custody on Wednesday morning.

Ross's bond money consisted of $1 million equity from his Holyfield-mansion in Georgia, of which he bought from the retired professional boxer Evander Holyfield with $500,000 hard cash and a surety of $500,000 from a bail bondsman.

The report claims that the rapper apparently got angry when a groundskeeper, who was also residing at his property, had brought his friends over for his birthday.

Ross reportedly dragged the man inside his guest house, he knocked him down with a handgun pointed at his head and he roughly broke his teeth and jaw, making the victim unable to chew food.

The arrest warrant states that, "The victim lost use of his jaw and is restricted to soft foods and liquid diet only as a result of not being able to chew food,".

While Ross has yet to answer as to who will be handling his case, Joyner said that the specific details about the charges would really have to come from the Fayette County authorities.

Back in 2012, MTV named Rick Ross as the "Hottest MC in the Game" and just this year, he was nominated under the "Best R&B Performance" and "Best R&B Song" categories for his appearance in Chris Brown's 2014 single "New Flame".
