Marvel Boss Kevin Feige: Expect More Crossovers between Movie and TV Universes

Marvel's cast of onscreen characters has grown considerably in the past few years. Starting from the original big screen Avengers core of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, and The Hulk, the movie and comics powerhouse has since expanded to the small screen and now has a sizeable roster of heroes and villains across both ABC's Agents of Shield and their various Netflix shows.

All these characters exist in one shared universe, but until now, crossovers between the movies and TV shows have been largely one sided. We often see characters from the big screen make their way onto TV, like when Thor's Lady Sif had a guest stint on Agents of Shield. However we have yet to see how Marvel's TV characters will factor into the larger events of the Avengers universe.

Do Matt Murdock, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and the other Agents of Shield have roles to play in the upcoming Civil and Infinity Wars? According to Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige, the answer is yes. In an interview with io9, Feige says that crossovers will happen when the TV characters are more widely recognized by the viewing public.

"As those [shows] come out, as those get into the culture I think they're, just like what happens in the movies, tools in the toolbox for some of those shows. And what happens on those shows could be tools in the tool box of the movies. I think that'll happen at some point."

Cinemablend also reported that Jessica Jones, Daredevil, and the other Netflix heroes may make an appearance in the final instalment of the Infinity War.

For now though Marvel has its sights set on a successful opening for Ant Man, which hits theatres in a few weeks' time.
