Jeremy Renner Gay? Actor 'Doesn't Care' if People Think So

Jeremy Renner is among many Hollywood actors who are constantly being plagued by rumors about his sexuality and he has spoken about it in a recent interview with Playboy magazine's July/August issue.

Renner, who plays Hawkeye in the action blockbuster movie "Avengers: Age of Ultron" says he doesn't care what people think about his sexuality.

"I don't care, ultimately, if that's what people want to think, read and care about. F**king say whatever the hell you want about me," he stated.

The 44-year old actor was also surprised to see that the very first thing that people search on Google about him was 'Jeremy Renner is gay.'

"That's an amazing thing. To suggest that it's negative, that being gay is a terrible thing, a perversion or whatever, I just don't get it. Don't you wish we were in a world where we're not shaming, judging and boxing people."

There has always been a stigma that being called out as gay or belonging to the LGBT community is negative, especially for actors who are always in the public eye. He finds this wrong and confusing, and further pointed out that the larger problem could be the public always speculating about a person's sexual preference.

Renner has openly admitted he is not bothered about his 'flaws' and knew that 'he'd made it as an actor' once everyone started caring about his sexuality, talking and debating about whether he was gay or not.

"Aren't we taught as kids that we're beautiful because we feel beautiful and not because someone else says so?" The actor added, "You don't look like the model on the magazine cover but you can still be beautiful, so I can't say I really want to change anything. I'm happy with flaws I have."

Renner, who separated from his ex-wife Sonni Pacheco, has a 2-year old daughter named Ava. Pacheco and Renner tied the knot back in January last year, but divorced after eleven months of marriage.

He has also talked about how being a father to Ava has completely changed his professional life. Unlike before, Renner now decides what roles he should take, considering that it will not compromise his time for Ava.

"Now, if anything takes me away and I don't get to see her, I just won't do it. I don't care what you pay me. All my energy goes toward her and her well-being," he said.

Jeremy Renner will be reprising his role as William Brandt in the movie "Mission: Impossible - Rougue Nation" this year, as well as his character as Clint Barton/Hawkeye in the upcoming American superhero film "Captain America: Civil War" in 2016.
