Arnold Schwarzenegger: Split With WIfe Maria Shiver His 'Biggest Failure'

As he looked back to his divorce in 2011 with ex-wife Maria Shiver after being together for 25 years, Arnold Schwazenegger regards their breakup as his 'biggest failure', according to reports.

The "Terminator" star openly talked about his divorce with Howard Stern on SiriusXM radio on June 24, Wednesday.

Upon promoting his new film "Terminator Genisys," Schwazenegger spoke about his personal setbacks to the 59-year old American journalist and admitted everything that happened was entirely his fault.

The five-time Mr. Universe and the former governor of California revealed fathering a child with his former housekeeper Mildred Baena ruined his marriage with Shiver.

"That was, without any doubt, the biggest setback and the biggest failure," the actor said. "You can't point a finger at anyone else. So yeah, I was disappointed in it. It's always easy to be smart hindsight. The thing was, how do you make the best of that situation?"

Schwarzenegger also said that while he went through therapy, he didn't feel like it helped them at all. "It was the biggest mistake I've ever made", he added. "That guy was so full of s--. He said more crap and more nonsense. It was absolutely counterproductive to our future relationship."

Making up from the mistake he had done, Schwarzenegger apologized to his ex-wife Maria and his children. He went on saying, "I went, and I felt instinctively, maybe I shouldn't go because I screwed up. I don't have to go through anyone to have to explain to me anything. I apologized to Maria. I apologized to my kids."

Despite the separation, Schwarzenegger and his relationship with his four kids remains strong. In fact, they recently made a surprise for the actor with a room filled with balloons and a simple note calling him 'the greatest dad'.

"My kids are a straight 10," he said. "I am so proud of them. I'm so in love with them." The actor also spoke about his relationship with his son to Joseph Baena, 17, his former housekeeper. He said, "He's terrific and he totally understands the situation. So it all worked out."

Arnol Schwarzenegger's upcoming movie "Terminator Genisys" will be released on July 1, 2015.
