Tech giant Apple was finally granted the architectural patent for the Beats gaming headset on Tuesday. The upcoming device has features like an embedded microphone into the headset, best suited for gamers who get a kick out of the brand.
A studio named Ammunition, where Beats devices are crafted, is a partner of the two designers, Robert Brunner and Christopher Kuh, who were acknowledged as authors of the patent.
This product, which is yet to be released, is similar with the rest of the Beats headphones' structure but has a microphone in the left piece. Since this is specifically designed for gaming, the microphone, instead of being in the typical location as in headsets for phones, will be integrated closer to the mouth for easier communication during games.
With this development of the accessory, Apple might thrust Beats' territory to the gaming zone.
The group's marketing representative clarifies, "Ammunition works in close partnership with Beats across product design, identity, and packaging to create an incredible experience for fans wherever they meet the product."
Beats was already bought by Apple a couple of weeks after the patent was presented on May 14, 2014 to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and remains a distinct body.
Forbes notes that the $3 billion deal is just a percent of Apple's revenue last year, though the purchase is still among the top investments of the company.
CEO Tim Cook declares, "Music is such an important part of all our lives and holds a special place within our hearts at Apple." He continued, "That's why we have kept investing in music and are bringing together these extraordinary teams so we can continue to create the most innovative music products and services in the world."
With this statement, Apple is still uncertain of manufacturing this piece to video gaming enthusiasts where it is a popular product.
