The Night's Watch on 'Game of Thrones' is a decidedly gloomy group of men who are currently number one on the internet's Most Hated List for the murder of their own Lord Commander Jon Snow (Kit Harington). However, a video has recently surfaced to show that they're actually a bunch of funny people.
Brian Fortune, who plays the Night's Watch's Othell Yarwyck, was still filming the show during his son's birthday. So the coolest father in the world got his castmates to greet Kevin while they were all still in character. The result is funny and touching, and offers ten different ways to say, "Happy birthday Kevin."
The video was uploaded by the birthday boy Kevin McCowen on Youtube with the caption, "My dad, who plays Othell Yarwyck on Game of Thrones, got the cast who plays the Night's Watch on GoT to wish me a Happy Birthday. Best birthday ever!"
The greetings came from the likes of Ser Alliser Thorne (Owen Teale), Tormund Giantsbane (Kristofer Hivju), Samwell Tarly (John Bradley-West), Eddison Tollett (Ben Crompton), Gilly (Hannah Murray) and Olly (Brenock O'Connor). The 998th Lord Commander himself said happy birthday as well.
The fifth season of 'Game of Thrones' featured several sad scenes involving the Night's Watch. Maester Aemon (Peter Vaughan) helps elect Jon Snow as Lord Commander, but dies shortly after Jon leaves with Tormund for Hardhome. Although Jon gets a small victory for getting the Wildlings to join him, several of his rangers die when Hardhome is attacked by White Walkers.
Most brothers of the Night's Watch didn't agree with Jon's decision to team up with the Wildlings, which resulted in the most unexpected twist in the season finale.
Fans are still hopeful that Jon Snow will return for the sixth season. Despite Harington's announcement that his character has been killed off the show, there are several theories that Jon would be resurrected as Azor Ahai.
