The Land Rover Car manufacturer is planning to launch the smartphone-controlled Range Rover Sport, it is a purpose-designed application that drivers can possibly remote control the steering wheel, the brakes, the accelerator, and the shift's range from high to low.can
The new technology will function if the driver is standing within 10 yards from the vehicle, and if the smart key is detected. If the driver gets out of the limited distance, the SUV will simply stop.
The new BMW 7 Series, is the first vehicle that can park a car using a remote control, it was launched last June 10. But Land Rover's smartphone-controlled Range Rover is way beyond better than BMW.
The smartphone-controlled Range Rover Sport is more like an adult sized remote control car. If the smartphone-controlled Range Rover technology goes on production, owner car owners can easily maneuver over the challenging off-road situations while walking alongside their SUV at speed up to 4 mph.
If the Range Rover is parked too close from another vehicle, the software installed can possibly back up the vehicle from the tight spot.
A test model of smartphone-controlled Range Rover Sport showed that it can independently perform a 180-degree turn, by the use of its sensors to detect available space.

The Land Rover's future plan is to let the owner have a hassle free ride, to have a self-driving vehicle and the driver will be in the comfort of not being obliged to keep their hands on the steering wheel.
Car And Driver recent post stated that: "Jaguar Land Rover was careful to present this new technology with slow, gentle maneuvers in uncrowded environments. Probably because the engineers knew anything else would remind us of the first appearance of this type of remote-control technology: the 1997 James Bond movie, Tomorrow Never Dies."
Land Rover has not given any time frame when it will be launched in the market, but it might be closer than expected.
