Lamar Odom reportedly cannot talk without bawling his eyes out after his best friend Jamie Sangouthai passed away of a reported drug overdose on June 14.
The 35-year-old basketball pro was said to be shaken after learning about his death.
A source told Us Weekly: ‘When he found out Jamie died, he was devastated. He feels like it could have happened to him. This is a huge wake-up call for him. It has really shaken him.’
Lamar recently cut Jamie off completely after a big fall out, and now he’s regretting that decision and he's beating himself up.
"Lamar thought it was for the best, as Jamie was really struggling and looking for enablers. Now, Lamar doesn’t know if he made the right decision,” a source tells Hollywood Life exclusively.
“He really loved Jamie and has reached out to his family to lend his support. Lamar is going to pay for everything — the funeral, any flights, and hotels that the family needs,” the source adds.
Odom's estranged wife Khloe Kardashian is also having a tough time with Jamie’s death.
She tweeted a day after his death. ‘When does it stop? RIP Jamie Sangouthai.’
Several hours later, she posted about her pain on social media “Life doesn’t get easier but I promise you that life will make you stronger,” Khloe wrote on a photo of a woman crying that she posted on her Instagram page.

She is helping Lamar through this very difficult time as she's been consoling him ever since the sudden death of his best friend.
An insider told Hollywood Life that "Khloe tracked Lamar down and has been talking to him. She’s been amazing listening to Lamar‘s pain being a shoulder to cry on."
"She’s been his emotional rock during this heartbreaking tragedy. Lamar can’t talk without bawling his eyes out. He’s been crying all night and day. It’s so so sad.”
Jamie was rushed to the hospital on June 14. He later died of an apparent heroin overdose, TMZ claims. Jamie was heavily featured on the TV series Khloe & Lamar.
