Will Wolverine be making a cameo in the upcoming 'Deadpool' movie?
Hugh Jackman has repeatedly been asked that question, and the 'Wolverine' actor has always managed to answer with a non-answer. In an interview with MTV, he was asked if his character would appear in the superhero movie. "They are definitely enemies in the comics and they always spark off well together, so I'd be open to that idea," the actor said.
Jackman found himself having to answer the familiar question when he spoke to Huffington Post. He was asked if he could talk about the rumored 'Deadpool' cameo, to which the actor answered, "Hmmm, I can't ... no. Nope." Jackman smiled before adding, "But, I am really good mates with [Ryan Reynolds] so ..."
Reynolds has played Wade Wilson, better known as Deadpool, in 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine.' The character's spin-off movie will be released on February 12, 2016.
Jackman was also asked if Wolverine will make an appearance in 'X-Men: Apocalypse,' a question he coyly answered, "Who knows?"
The 'Les Miserables' actor was more willing to talk about the still untitled Wolverine movie.
"I feel very blessed that I loved playing this part," Jackman said. "The last 'Wolverine' and that last 'X-Men' were maybe two of the best and I feel like, hopefully, we'll do it again with this last one."
He also confirmed that his retirement as Wolverine comes at a good time.
"There was a period about six years ago when I could see my choices being narrowed by Wolverine, but now I feel like they've opened up from doing 'Les Mis' or 'Prisoners' or 'Pan,'" Jackman said. "The options coming to me right now are more varied than they've ever been in my life. Hopefully, I'm not that actor in 10 years who's unemployed going, 'Why did I ever leave it?' and then begging to come back."
'Wolverine 3' is scheduled for release on March 3, 2017.
