Mary Ellen Trainor dies at 62

Lethal Weapon actress Mary Ellen Trainor died on May 20 of this year, but was just confirmed on June 9 by Kathleen Kennedy, who is the President for Lucasfilm and the actress' long time friend. She was 62 years old.

Trainor succumbed to the complications of pancreatic cancer at her house in Montecito, California according to The Huffington Post. She was not just a character actress but she was also a philanthropist.

She started in the movie business by becoming a production assistant on many films like Steven Spielberg's "1941," written by Robert Zemeckis who eventually became her husband. She married the talented writer and producer in 1980 and after that, her then husband included her in a film called "Romancing the Stone," which became her first movie to plot on her resume. She played the role of Kathleen Turner, a sister who was kidnapped. Her talent was seen and made more offers to be in movies after that.

The late character actress also played a lot of cameo roles in movies like "Forrest Gump" and "Back To The Future" according to BBC. Nevertheless, she was successful to have made a name for herself as an actress who became known in the movies of the 80s. But among the many roles she played, her work as a forensic psychiatrist on "Lethal Weapon" and its series is the one that a lot of people won't forget.

The Hollywood Reporter also reported her recent death and announced that a memorial service honoring her will be held on June 19, 11 a.m. at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Montecito. She was survived by her son Alex, her son's girlfriend, Kat; her mom Jame and her brothers and sisters Jack, Ned, Barbara and Carolyn.

Her family asked for those who would attend the memorial to just give donations to the Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation and The Wounded Warrior Project instead of bringing flowers.
