Starbucks Sells 6 New Frappuccino Flavors

In line with the celebration of Starbucks Frappuccino's 20th anniversary, six new flavors of the known cold beverage brand were launched in branches in the US, some in Canada.

According to CNN, the six new flavors include Caramel Cocoa Cluster, Cinnamon Roll, Cotton Candy, Cupcake, Lemon Bar, and Red Velvet cake, which are actually requested by fans.

Starbucks marketing director Renee Jones stated that, "Over the years we have seen many creative recipes from our customers, and the six Fan Flavor Frappuccino beverages featured in the Flav-Off contest represent a few of the most popular recipes."

There are already 28 existing Starbucks Frappuccino flavors, but beginning yesterday, six more were added to the menu. Fans of the coffee drink will be able to vote for their favorite from June 19 to 26, with the top drink to be announced on July 3.

The Caramel Cocoa Cluster which contains 470 calories in a Grande is made through the blending of syrup, coffee, milk, ice, whipped cream, and Caramel sauce.

The 510-calorie Cinnamon Roll has a mixture of cinnamon dolce syrup, coffee, white chocolate mocha sauce, vanilla bean, whipped cream with cinnamon dolce sprinkles.

For those who want to stay away from caffeine, Cotton Candy, Cupcake Flavor and Lemon Bar are perfect choices. Cotton Candy and Cupcake both have vanilla bean, however the former features raspberry syrup while the latter contains the hazelnut variety.

Lemon Bar is primarily a mixture of lemonade and vanilla syrup.

The delicious 480-calorie Red Velvet is rich in mocha sauce, raspberry syrup, vanilla syrup, Frappuccino chips, milk, ice, and whipped cream.

20 years ago, Starbucks district manager Dina Campion gave birth to the Frappuccino. In 1993, she noticed that some local coffee shops are blending coffee to create other flavors. Before Frappuccino, Starbucks only ventured in serving hot coffee.

The growing demand of cold beverages in Starbucks has increased so much after the Frappuccino was created. Now, the Starbucks Frappuccino is served in 300 different locations around the world.
