The track was written by Isabella Summers of Florence + the Machine. The tune's arrival is just perfect for the summer season, with its upbeat track expected to be on everyone's beach playlists this summer 2015.
Katharine McPhee says that her upcoming album was a liberating experience. Speaking to Pret-a-Reporter, she said, "The song is very tongue-in-cheeky and samples a Luther Vandross song."
She adds, "It's a fun summer song, and I'm excited about the body of work as far as the album goes because this record is something I'm very connected to - like a diary of what I've been through."
Katharine McPhee has been relatively under the radar during her tough journey. The "Smash" actress filed for divorce in May last year from husband Nick Cokas.
Katharine claims that she and Cokas had been separated during the earlier part of 2013. The two were married for six years prior to the divorce.
The music video was also uploaded on her YouTube account the same day. The catchy track's video boasts of a 1950s pin up style; with a "Grease" vibe sans the poodle skirts. Katharine even dons sexy skin-bearing outfits with a mega-teased beehive hairstyle.
This is the first single to be released from McPhee's third album, "Hysteria." The album will be out on July 21, as Entertainment Weekly reports.
Celebrity Net Worth reports that Katharine McPhee's net worth is currently at $6 million. The singer turned actress earns $40,000 per episode.
It is yet unknown if the per episode rate will be the same for McPhee's acting chops in CBS' TV drama, "Scorpion."
