Transformers fans' long wait for a 5th insatllment of the movie franchise is over. Universal Studios confirmed the sequel is set to hit theaters in 2017.Mark Wahlberg will reprise his role as Cade Yeager. The Autobots and Decepticons will still wage their fight led by Optimus Prime and Bumblebee versus the unrelenting tandem of Megatron and Starscream. More Transformer Characters are sure to surface in Tranformers 5.
Paramount Pictures promised to sweep the changes in the Transformers film series franchise. Viewers can enjoy the best cinematic battle between the Autobots, the Decepticons, and mankind.
Spearheaded by screenwriter Akiva Goldsman, Paramount Pictures was in the writing threshold of trying to make a "Marvel style" Transformers universe. The strategy was to keep the franchise fresh by implementing the cinematic treatment done by Disney,Star Wars and the Marvel Cinematic Universe with spin-offs and a series of sequels.Hasbro (one of the film's production company) confirmed more robot-smashing action will be seen in the film.
Since director Michael Bay has been the face of the Transformers franchise, rumors got them saying he's not going on board for the Transformers 5. Bay is currently getting ready to begin a production on Benghazi movie "13 Hour." Director Bay said: "There's kind of a new chapter, a new direction in movies I want to make. I have a lot of stories to tell. And it's about flexing new muscles." There is still a possibility he will be in the production of Transformers 5. According to some reports Paramount Pictures has not given up on the idea of working with the renowned director.
Mark Wahlberg is the only actor in Transformers that confirmed to return, Wahlberg said: "Yeah, I committed to doing a couple more." Even Wahlberg expects Michael Bay will also return, "I can't speak for Mr. Bay, but something tells me we'll be on that set soon," Wahlberg said.
In an interview for E! News, Megan Fox is open to do a cameo as Mikaela Banes. As for Shia LaBeouf returning as Sam Witwicky? That is yet to be confirmed.
