Pizza Hut Racism: Arkansas Employees Wrote KKK And Drew Swastikas On Pizza Box, Creating Pizza Hut Racism Controversy

Though recently the large pizza fast food chain made news after its ordering app potentially saved a woman's life after she and her child were being kept prisoners by her abusive boyfriend, now it's a terrible case of Pizza Hut racism making news, after a family found themselves with a box full of horrible drawings.

It has been reported that three employees from an Arkansas franchise were fired recently after making some very obscene Pizza Hut racism drawings in a pizza they had given to an African-American family.

According to Jezebel, the Pizza Hut racism controversy surfaced earlier this week, after two residents from Bryant, Arkansas (Samonte Wallace and Bryan Reed) went to a local venue of the fast food chain to order two pizzas, later finding that their second order had been tainted with horrible words and images, as the top part of the box read "KKK," a heavy racial slur (the N-word) and the drawing of a swastika.

Eater reports that it was Wallace's mother who reported the Pizza Hut racism incident to the chain's corporate offices, and it appears that afterwards the two men were offered a free dinner and fired the employees responsible, though the company didn't formally apologize for the issue; Wallace has said publicly that this isn't enough and they've filed a police report since, adding that they won't be eating at Pizza Hut again.

"The actions of the employees involved are inexcusable and have resulted in their termination," the company's headquarters told Fox16 when asked about the Pizza Hut racism situation. "We have a zero tolerance policy for this type of behavior and regularly train our employees to treat everyone fairly, equally and with respect. As soon as the local franchise owner found out about this he contacted the customer and apologized. We extend that sincere apology to everyone who was offended by this ignorant act. Obviously not a true reflection of the company or the local franchisee who acted very swiftly in responding."
