It's only a few weeks until one of the most highly anticipated films of the year (alongside "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens," that is) is finally released in the US and across the world, and up until now one of the new additions to the cast hadn't been revealed in full costume: Paul Bettany's The Vision.
There are at least three new major superheroes joining in the "Avengers" sequel, namely Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch, Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Quicksilver and Paul Bettany's The Vision - with the interesting twist that this would be Bettany's second character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as he voices J.A.R.V.I.S., the artificial intelligence butler of Tony Stark/Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.)
According to Cinema Blend, Paul Bettany's The Vision has been a tough character to pin down ever since the first trailers and concept art began airing for the film - the nearest thing had been when, a few weeks back, an "Age of Ultron" trailer had partially shown the character's face.
As Screen Crush reports, the new appearance of the character was published as if it wasn't a big deal, even though fans had been eagerly awaiting to see the look for months on end.
In the comic books, Paul Bettany's The Vision is an android created by villain Ultron (played by James Spader in the upcoming film) to help with his world domination plan; however, the character becomes sentient and stands up against its creator, ultimately joining the Avengers - and, down the line, even entering a relationship with Scarlet Witch.
It's known that the new film will be featuring some changes in the comics' plot (for example, in the comics Ultron's creator is Ant-Man, while in the movie it's Tony Stark), the details of how the story will be portrayed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe remain unclear.
Now, the April Entertainment Weekly cover has finally shown the entirety of Paul Bettany's The Vision, as he joins the rest of the Avengers for the magazine's special feature on the release of the movie, set to hit US theaters on May 1.
Don't miss Paul Bettany's "The Vision" and all the rest of the Avengers in the upcoming film!
