Considered one of the best romantic comedies of the past few decades, many have waited for a "Pretty Woman" reunion for quite some time, and the fact that the movie has just turned 25 years old proved the perfect occasion for the cast and crew to get together and catch up!
Before the "Pretty Woman" reunion, the two leads, Julia Roberts and Richard Gere, actually made a film together back in 1999, "Runaway Bride," which became a success mostly due to the fact that they are still favorites as an on-screen couple, after they originally played Edward Lewis and Vivian Ward in the 1990 film.
According to Yahoo! News, the 25th anniversary of the film served as the perfect excuse for a "Pretty Woman" reunion, as a good portion of the gang got back together for the first time in years: not only were Roberts and Gere around, but also director Garry Marshall, Hector Elizondo and Laura San Giacomo, who played the hotel butler and Vivien's best friend, respectively.
Only "Seinfeld" star Jason Alexander seemed to be missing from the "Pretty Woman" reunion.
TV Guide reports that the "Pretty Woman" reunion happened as "The Today Show" honored the film's anniversary, as next March 23 it'll be 25 years since the movie first hit theaters and became a instant classic of its kind, breaking box office records for the romantic comedy genre and making Julia Roberts into the superstar she is today.
The film tells the Cinderella-like story of a millionaire (Gere) who picks up a prostitute (Roberts) in Los Angeles' Sunset Boulevard and asks her to live with him for a few days, and both of their worlds change completely as they fall in love - with Vivien breaking the golden rule of not kissing one of her clients.
