Raven-Symone Michelle Obama: Disney Channel’s First Lady ‘Ape’ Comments, It’s So Racist? [VIDEO]

A few months back, the star of the Disney Channel show "It's So Raven" made headlines after officially coming out of the closet, but saying she didn't believe in race or other different tags - now, it's Raven-Symone's Michelle Obama comments putting the actress on the spot over how she thinks of the world.

Over the past fall, the "Cosby Show" young actress was interviewed by Oprah Winfrey and received a lot of bad press over how she said she was an American rather than an African-American, and a person who loves people instead of a gay woman; and now Raven-Symone's Michelle Obama comments have gotten the young star in trouble once again.

According to Breitbart, Raven-Symone's Michelle Obama comments came as she was a guest host in the popular morning show "The View," as she entered a heated discussion in regards of Univision host Rodner Figueroa, who was recently fired from the network after saying that the First Lady of the United States looked like an "ape."

Figueroa's original comment said that the First Lady looked like she was "part of the cast of 'The Planet of the Apes,' the film." Rosie Perez, one of the regular co-hosts of "The View," was absolutely fired up about the whole thing, going on about how the Latino community refused to be a part of the same group as black people, something inherently racist, but Raven-Symone's Michelle Obama retort rather disagreed with the original premise.

According to MSN, the issue regarding Raven-Symone's Michelle Obama comments came in the midst of a discussion on the subject, when she jumped in after Perez had spoken her mind to say that perhaps the comments hadn't been racist at all, saying that "some people look like animals."

"Not Michelle Obama. Michelle, don't fire me from this right now, but some people do look like animals," went Raven-Symone's Michelle Obama comments, according to The Huffington Post Canada. "So can I be mad if someone called me Toucan Sam?" Symone said.
