Taco Bell Doughnuts: Deep-Fried Cap’n Crunch Donuts Make Their Way Into Taco Bell Desserts [PHOTO]

Because there weren't enough deep-fried menu items in fast food restaurants, the new Taco Bell doughnuts give patrons yet another chance to mess with their blood circulation, teaming up with Cap'n Crunch to create the newest dessert from the popular Tex-Mex restaurant chain.

For those who are aching a new type of dessert from their favorite super cheap fast food restaurant, the Taco Bell doughnuts may be God-sent, as the major franchise announced that they'll be trying out their new menu item in selected venues in the country, particularly in the West Coast.

According to The Verge, the new Taco Bell doughnuts are called Cap'n Crunch Delights, and they'll consist of donut holes sprinkled with bits of cereal that'll be previously mashed up for consumption. More than a dessert, the new menu item is being advertised as a breakfast option for the chain, which has made a conscious effort to position themselves as one of the major spots for breakfast in the country through heavy campaigning.

Only a few days ago, Food World News reported that KFC, which is a subsidiary of Yum! Foods just like Taco Bell and Pizza Hut, had released new edible coffee cups called Scoffee in their United Kingdom branches, and now it seems like the Taco Bell doughnuts are trying to up the ante back in the United States, deep-frying one of America's favorite and most traditional cereals.

According to website Refinery29, the new Taco Bell doughnuts for now are only getting a small release, limited only to the city of Bakersfield, California, as they get a taste of the "dollop of creamy icing encapsulated by a layer of fried dough and dusted with Cap'n Cruch's Crunch Berries sprinkles."

Basically, they're mini doughnuts with a cereal twist, though certainly not for the faints of heart.

The new Taco Bell doughnuts will go for $1 a pair, with the dozen costing $4.49 - so, if you're around Bakersfield, give them a try!
