Ever since the exciting news earlier this week regarding the addition of Peter Parker to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, many news outlets around the world whether Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man will be joining the Disney mega-successful franchise, after it has been said they're about to reboot the story about the photographer stung by a spider - only three years after the last reboot.
With the new addition of Spidey to Disney's Marvel Cinematic Universe (where he'll co-exist with characters like Iron-Man, Captain America and Thor), this would be the third time in fifteen years that the iconic superhero gets adapted into the big screen, after being played by Tobey Maguire in three films and then seeing British Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man in two other movies, including last year's "The Amazing Spider-Man 2," which proved to be the least successful movie of the franchise.
According to Screen Rant, Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man was definitely considered by Disney in the first talks with Sony Pictures, as they discussed whether it'd be possible for the character to join.
Apparently, the British-American actor himself was having discussions with Disney in the first sessions, though it was ultimately determined that it wouldn't make sense to have Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man in the new films, as they intend to start fresh with a much younger actor, as Peter Parker was bitten in high school and Garfield is currently 31 years old.
The Daily Beast got the scoop about Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man treatment, and it talks about what a shame it is that the two studios ultimately dropped him from the upcoming project, as he was a perfect fit for Peter Parker/Spidey, even though the two movies he starred in were somewhat on the subpar side.
Currently, Garfield is supporting girlfriend and "The Amazing Spider-Man" co-star Emma Stone as she's nominated as Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the film Birdman.
According to Slash Film, some of the actors considered to replace Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man are Dylan O'Brien and Logan Lerman, one of whom would be starring in a solo film to be released in 2017, after possibly making a cameo in another Marvel movie, with many people suggesting it'd be "Captain America: Civil War."
