Alyssa Milano ‘Mistresses’ OUT, Jennifer Esposito ‘Charmed’ To Take ABC Drama Role

After the actress recently left Alyssa Milano's "Mistresses" show due to production moving away from where her family is (including months-old little daughter Elizabella Dylan), now "Crash" actress Jennifer Esposito is about to take her place as the lead character in the popular ABC drama.

For Alyssa Milano, "Mistresses" had been a chance to pick up where she'd left off in television after growing up in the set of "Who's the Boss?" and later co-starring in the supernatural Aaron Spelling show "Charmed" with Shannen Doherty, Rose McGowan and Holly Marie Combs - but, as she stated over the past fall, she ultimately decided that in her life, her husband and children came before her work.

"After two wonderful seasons in Los Angeles, the studio has decided to shoot season three of Mistresses in Vancouver, Canada, for financial reasons," said Milano on her website last October, speaking about her decision to leave. "It's with a heavy heart that I have decided that I can't relocate. I have two babies under 4. Being a mother and wife comes first and I just cannot uproot my children and separate the family by moving away."

According to Entertainment Weekly, Alyssa Milano's "Mistresses" retirement had the producers on a tight schedule to find a new star, and it seems like Jennifer Esposito, famous for her roles in productions like "Crash" and "Samantha Who?" was just the right fit for the show.

People Magazine confirmed that Esposito would be the one taking up Alyssa Milano's "Mistresses" spot, where she'll be playing the role of Calista Raines, who's the creative director of a luxury fashion brand.

As The Daily Mail reports, there's no hard feelings or bad blood from Milano to the show's new focus, as she took to Twitter to congratulate Esposito and the rest of the cast.

"You are going to love those ladies!" went Alyssa Milano's "Mistresses" greet to the cast on Twitter. "They are a special group. And super talented. Blessings and love."
