According to Rolling Stone Magazine, neither Tony Bennett or Lady Gaga had appeared at a Grammy ceremony for a while: Bennett hadn't appeared in the show since singing "It Had to be You" alongside Carrie Underwood; Gaga, on her part, hadn't sung in the show since coming out of an egg in 2011 to perform her hit song "Born This Way," though she's no stranger to duets with iconic men on the show, after having sang "Your Song" with Elton John.
