BAFTA Awards Highlights: Eddie Redmayne Continues Clean Awards Sweep As Stephen Hawking! [PHOTOS]

The most important awards in the entire United Kingdom are the ones given by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, where the best from British and international film is awarded every year, and this year's BAFTA Awards highlights include, above all, the latest of the Eddie Redmayne awards for his role as Stephen Hawking in "The Theory of Everything," as he continues to be the frontrunner for the Academy Award for Best Actor.

For the BAFTA Awards highlights, it should be noted beforehand which were the films tipped to receive the most honors: Wes Anderson's "The Grand Budapest Hotel" was the movie with the most nods, at 11, followed by a tie between "Birdman" and "The Theory of Everything" with 10, "The Imitation Game" with 9 and "Boyhood" and "Whiplash" also tied with 5.

As BBC reports, the main BAFTA awards highlights were, of course, the top prizes of the night: besides Redmayne's record-breaking awards sweep, Julianne Moore also continued a winning streak for her role in "Still Alice," while the top movie award, for Best Film, was given to "Boyhood" - a movie which also received the honor of Best Director for veteran Richard Linklater, in an effort that marked 12 years in the filming of a story about a young boy growing up, from childhood until he reaches college.

According to People Magazine, other BAFTA Awards highlights included Patricia Arquette's continued success as the protagonist's mother in "Boyhood," a role that has already won her a Golden Globe and a SAG award; J.K Simmons also took the Best Supporting Actor award for his role in "Whiplash," while Anderson's "The Grand Budapest Hotel" took home five awards, including Best Original Screenplay.

Among other awards, "The Theory of Everything" took home Best Adapted Screenplay and Best British Film.

However, as The Daily Mail reports, all eyes were on Redmayne's impassioned speech, as he dedicated it to his own family and that of Stephen Hawking, who was present at the ceremony and even presented an award - definitely one of the BAFTA Awards highlights!
