It seems like Lindsay Lohan's 2015 has kicked off with the wrong foot, after news has come out that the controversial former Disney star has been recently hospitalized after contracting a rare and incurable tropical virus called chikungunya in a recent holiday.
While it had been previously reported that the "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen" star had contracted the virus on her recent visit to the French Polynesia, the disease - which causes chronic pain for years after being contracted due to a mosquito bite - has made Lindsay Lohan's 2015 start in the wrong place: hospitalized in London.
According to Toronto Sun, the latest Lindsay Lohan 2015 news came out earlier this week, after the actress and singer had reportedly recovered from the virus in the last days of 2014. However, as the World Health Organization says in its report of the virus, there is no cure for it, as it will cause bouts of pain for up to years after contraction.
The Huffington Post reports that the Lindsay Lohan 2015 news is part of an ongoing issue health with the "Mean Girls" actress, ever since she contracted chikungunya in Bora Bora, following a recent epidemic bout in tropical countries, from the Pacific up to the Caribbean and northern South American countries.
As E! Online reports, the "Parent Trap" actress announced she'd contracted the virus late last year, as she posted a few pictures on Instagram and tweeted that she wasn't about to let a virus ruin her vacation. After a few days of bed rest and taking it easy, it seems Lohan mostly recovered from the first phase of the illness, though reportedly she was now suffering from a high fever as well as "unbearable" joint pain, which led to her hospital admission in London, particularly in the King Edward VII hospital.
Although Lindsay Lohan's 2015 is starting out clumsily, hopefully she'll make a full recovery soon and can go back to work and keeping on the right track, following her many past issues with the law.
