After dominating the Amazon market sales with three different variants of the Chromebook, Acer has decided to finally step up the competition and release its first Chromebook to sport a 15.6" display. The product was unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show 2015 in Las Vegas.
The new Chromebook from Acer is just called Chromebook 15, an appropriate namesake for a 15 the machines 15 inch display. The Acer Chromebook 15 comes in two variants when it comes to its processor, the first one runs on a 5th Generation Intel Core i3, the second choice is an Intel Celeron with a 5th Generation Core microarchitecture. Early expert's reviews say that the machine is powerhouse on-the-go.
Acer's Chromebook 15 comes in two display version as well. The first one has a full HD display that can support resolutions up to 1920 x 1080, this guarantees top of the line sharpness as well as vibrant and clear video and photo display. The second one has an HD display resolution of 1366 x 786, this variant is best for those who are on a very tight budget. Both variants however still come in with Acer ComfyView and an anti-glare feature that will greatly minimize eye-strains especially when used for extended periods of time. Aside from larger screen display and top of the line processors, Acer also said that they have greatly improved their products battery life. The Acer Chromebook 15 also features a 802.11ac Wi-Fi adapter, Bluetooth 4.0 capability, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports an and HDMI port. Additionally, With all these high-end parts all put together in a single machine the Acer Chromebook 15 weighs a little bit heavier compared to its other counterparts.
Other Acer Chromebook 15 models will be available in the market soon, promised Acer. These products will be available in either 16GB or 32GB SSD storage and has either 2GB or 4GB of RAM. In the U.S. market prices for Acer Chromebook 15 will start at $249.99.
