Following the disastrous "Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story" earlier this year, Dustin Diamond's lifetime becomes news once again, after the actor who played Screech in the beloved 80s and early 90s teen comedy show was arrested for different weapons charges.
After his wild success as the nerdy stereotypical character Screech in "Saved by the Bell," Dustin Diamond's lifetime has been plagued with different ways to draw attention to himself, as he's milked the cow of his former glories, even writing a tell-all about his experience in the show; now, the latest news regarding the actor and comedian see him in big trouble with the law.
A few years back, Dustin Diamond's lifetime became news after he directed and created his own sex tape entitled "Screeched - Saved by the Smell," which made headlines as an infamous former child star begging for attention, even though he later told Oprah Winfrey that it wasn't really him starring but rather a body double.
The now 37 year-old actor, most famous for playing Screech, has become infamous for yet another thing: his arrest. According to USA Today, Dustin Diamong's lifetime has been tainted once more over possession of a switchblade, recklessly endangering safety on the first degree and even carrying a concealed weapon.
According to TMZ, the incident occurred in Wisconsin, as Diamond was out in a bar with his 27 year-old girlfriend Amanda Schutz on late Christmas day. Another couple was allegedly taking pictures to Diamond and this caused the actor and comedian to enter a discussion with the other patron; things got progressively more heated and the actor ultimately pulled out a knife and stabbed the other man.
KDVR states that the Port Washington Police Department report released on Friday says that the injured man had a stabbing wound under his armpit measuring about 1/2 inch, from which he was bleeding heavily. The same report also says that, at some point, the man Diamond got in a fight with had grabbed his girlfriend by the hair and made her bleed.
While Diamond claims self-defense, his bail was set at $10,000, and is reportedly seeking private counsel. Only time will tell what this terrible incident will do to Dustin Diamond's lifetime.
