Following a long career in which he's often been accused of being homophobic and downright disrespecting just about everybody, in "The Interview" audiences can see Eminem coming out - but just how much is fact and how much was done just for the sake of comedy in the new controversial film?
The very idea of Eminem coming out has both shocked the world and amused everyone on the planet, particularly considering just how often the Slim Shady himself has been attacked over homophobia, following a long career in the rap business where he's made sure to make fun of everyone.
According to The Mirror, the rumor of Eminem coming out has gone public following the online release (and then, of course, leak) of what has turned into the most sought-after movie of 2014 following an international issue with North Korea and its Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un: the Seth Rogen and James Franco film "The Interview."
In one of the first scenes of the new film about an assassination plot towards Kim Jong-un, audiences can see Eminem coming out of the closet, casually admitting he's gay and is surprised nobody has figured this out by now, saying he's been playing "gay peek-a-boo" while talking about his lyrics over the years.
"When I say things about gay people, or people think my lyrics are homophobic - it's because I'm gay," Eminem says in the movie, according to Pink News; in it, he has a cameo playing himself giving an interview to James Franco's late-night show host. "I'm more shocked with people haven't figured it out now. I mean, it's kind of like I've been playing gay peek-a-boo."
Of course, the whole thing was done just for the laughs, and the whole thing about Eminem coming out wasn't really true - but it's great to see that such a big figure of rap can step up to the plate and make fun of himself!
Still, Eminem's slurs towards the LGBT community over the years have been so many that many have attempted to get the famous rapper booted from success, including this article posted by The Huffington Post in 2013.
