‘Into The Woods’ Movie Cast Saves The Adaptation?

'Into The Woods' Movie Cast - "Into The Woods" is a long awaited movie adaptation from a Broadway musical. It'll hit the theaters on Christmas Day but the reviews are already appearing and not being so kind.

There is a big controversy in the movie reviews given to "Into The Woods." The film takes several known fairytales, such as "Red Ridind Hood," "Cinderella," "Jack and The Beanstalk" and "Rapunzel" and turns them into modern tales by twisting the plot.

The musical is a Tony-awarded one and highly acclaimed. The movie, seemingly, won't be so much. Some fans who've seen it, already commented on it and were more than happy about the adaptation.

"It is definitely a must see! The casting was done extremely well for almost all the characters. Not only this but their choices of set and scenery for each scene in the movie was done exceptionally well," said one user in IMDB.

On the other hand, some critics weren't so kind with their words.

"'Into The Woods' Falls Off The Stage" is the title with which Red Eye Chicago starts off its review. Basically, the main criticism is to Rob Marshall, the director, who previously directed other musicals such as "Chicago" and "Nine."

Apparently, he didn't capture the essence of the characters or got the plot in a satisfying way. One thing that was exceptional, though, was the cast. The greatest moments in the movie were due to their performances.

Last, but not least, Reuters mentioned that "Into The Woods" already has three Golden Globe nominations, one for best musical or comedy film, another one for best actress due to Emily Blunt and another one for best supporting actress, to Meryl Streep.

"The movie goes to happily ever after and then moves forward to show what happens after happily ever after and it becomes more real. It is more what happens in life," said Marshall to explain the dark twist the movie takes.

Dark or not, though, the element that constantly shines seems to be the cast in this chance.
