Last week on 'The Flash,' Barry Allen was quite pleased when his friends from Starling City, namely: Oliver, Felicity and Diggle, came to Central City to work alongside him in uncovering the mystery behind a deadly boomerang. Unfortunately, Barry's alter ego The Flash got infected by Bivolo, causing him to run amuck the city, putting everyone's life in danger. Good thing Arrow was there to save his friend. This week, it's down to just The Flash again to save his city from whatever bad element there may be. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, actor Grant Gustin dished on what's to come in tonight's show. "Barry will actually get to come face to face with [Reverse Flash], not just running with him, but standing face to face with him, looking at him," he said before adding, "I didn't even remotely see coming what [showrunner] Andrew Kreisberg told me is going to be one of the turning points with [the Reverse Flash] storyline. Aside from Reverse Flash, a very familiar face is coming back to Central City. Caitlin Snow's gone-too-soon lover Robbie Raymond is said to return as meta-human Firestorm, as per spoilers released last week. In an interview with Access Hollywood, actress Danielle Panabaker gushed about her character's reunion with Robbie Amell's Ronnie. "I sort of see where things are going and in this episode in particular, we start sort of exploring what actually happened with Ronnie Raymond," she said. "Obviously, Caitlin thinks he passed away in the particle accelerator explosion, but as an audience, we already know that that's not true, so she's gotta go on her own journey and we see her outside S.T.A.R. Labs exploring. It's great. It's a really exciting episode and it opens up a really cool storyline."
The official synopsis of 'The Flash' season 1 episode 9 reads: "Barry finds himself face-to-face with his nemesis, the man in the yellow suit, a.k.a. Reverse Flash, who killed his mother. Barry is frustrated when the Reverse Flash escapes, but Dr. Wells and Cisco come up with a plan to trap him. All they need is bait, so they turn to Dr. Tina McGee from Mercury Labs to help."
The synopsis continues, "Meanwhile, it's Christmas at The West household and Iris is in full holiday cheer. Eddie gives her a surprising gift but also leaves her with a question that could change her life. Joe joins the search for the man in yellow and ends up in the crossfire. Caitlin finds Ronnie."
