News that the fattest person dies has turned the world around, as different outlets around the world take the chance of this sad news to talk about the hidden meaning behind this kind of occurrence: that the obesity epidemic needs to stop.
The fact that the fattest person dies has given the world a turn in the last couple of days, after it was reported that Keith Martin, the man who held the record for the planet's heaviest man, passed away after going through a surgery that could have changed his life for the better.
According to The Daily Mail, news that the fattest person dies has just hit the different outlets around the world. Martin, dubbed the fattest man in the world, weighed 70 stone (980 pounds or around 444 kilograms) and had been battling for years with an eating disorder that saw the man compulsively eating until reaching that kind of vastly unhealthy weight.
Fox News reports that the fact that the fattest person dies could come at no great surprise, seeing as how his disease had caused him to eat: he consumed about 3.5 liters of coffee and 2 liters of carbonated drinks (such as Coca-Cola or Dr Pepper) a day, ate about six egg-fried breakfasts and his lunches were filled with unhealthy meals such as Big Macs, pizza and different types of takeout.
In all, Martin's diet had him consuming approximately 20,000 calories a day.
According to The Inquisitr, news that the fattest person dies came not too long after he went through a surgical procedure that could have turned his life around: the popular gastric sleeve. For years, he had fought anxiety and depression and had turned to food for emotional comfort.
Unfortunately for him, however, only a few months after the surgery, he went through a stint of pneumonia that ultimately killed him. Had he lived, he could have lost hundreds of pounds with the procedure.
