For the eldest daughter of the President of the United States Barack Obama, life is even tougher than it is for most teenagers: Malia Obama's 2014 has been filled with controversy, particularly this week, after an NFL player and a Republican staff member made some odd comments about her.
Everywhere Malia Obama's 2014 goes, she gets followed: no surprise there, seeing as she's the eldest daughter of the most powerful man in the globe (even though QG recently named him second least influential person, after U2), it seems that this week in particular she's been having some bad luck with the press.
According to Hollywood Life, the first Malia Obama 2014 issue came last week, as Elizabeth Lauten, the then communications director for Republican Tennessee representative Stephen Fincher, made some very unpleasant comments about Malia and her younger sister Sasha after their appearance at the traditional turkey pardoning over the past Thanksgiving.
"Dear Sasha and Malia, I get you're both in those awful teen years, but you're a part of the First Family, try showing a little class," Lauten wrote on her Facebook page, creating the first bit of controversy Malia Obama's 2014 has seen. "Rise to the occasion. Act like being in the White House matters to you. Dress like you deserve respect, not a spot at a bar."
Following the comments, she received a wave of critics, saying it was unfair and unpleasant the way she was talking about the two first daughters, who are no older than teenagers. This caused Lauten to issue an apology and ultimately resign from her position.
However, that wasn't the only issue surrounding Malia Obama's 2014 lately. According to The New York Daily News, Darnell Dockett, the Arizona Cardinals Defensive End, reposted a picture of the 16 year-old's backside on his Instagram account, gathering a whole lot of controversy for himself - not only given the fact that she's Barack Obama's daughter, but also because she's underage.
The picture showed the oldest daughter of Barack and Michelle Obama wearing skin-tight jeans.
"Yall chill I never said anything about the presidents [sic] daughter 'not one thing'", he later responded on Twitter after deleting the Instagram photo, according to The Huffington Post "all I did was repost my boy IG pic. Get your facts straight!"
hopefully, this will be the end of Malia Obama's 2014 issues - but it certainly seems she's been having a rough week in social media!
