In a strange turn of events, Lana Del Rey and Eminem may have just started a feud, after the famous rapper threatened to hit her in his newest promotional clip.
According to the UK's The Guardian, Lana Del Rey's Eminem issue became clear earlier this week, when the Slim Shady released his "Shady CXVPHER Freestyle" video on YouTube, where he freestyles some lyrics and mentions the "Ultra Violet" singer, saying he'd like to "punch her in the face," a phrase that's created an uproar in her fans.
In the video, the new Lana Del Rey and Eminem becomes apparent, as he not only threatens the singer but also mentions former NFL star Ray Rice, who was recently fired from the Baltimore Ravens after a video released by website TMZ made it clear clear that he had beaten his wife, Janay Palmer, earlier this year when they were still dating.
The lyrics that may have started a new Lana Del Rey/Eminem feud went as follows:
"I may fight for gay rights, especially if they dyke is more of a knockout than Janay Rice/ Play nice?" Eminem sings, "B*tch I'll punch Lana Del Rey right in the face twice, like Ray Rice in broad daylight in the plain sight of the elevator surveillance/ Til her head is banging on the railing, then celebrate with the Ravens."
Eminem's verbal attacks come at no surprise, as it's hardly the first time he has trashed other singers in his lyrics, with a history of dissing pop stars like Britney Spears, Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera in the past, as Billboard reminds us.
However, the Lana Del Rey and Eminem piece becomes different due to one thing: as Pop Crush reported back in 2012, the "Summertime Sadness" is actually a big fan of Slim Shady, and she considers him a genius.
Let's hope the Eminem and Lana Del Rey issue ends here, and that she won't take it to heart - who knows, she might even feel honored at the fact that he's dissing her in one of his songs!
