Mountain Dew Doritos: “Dewitos,” Dew Plus Doritos To Hit Stores?

Mountain Dew Doritos- A mountain dew with flavored Doritos may soon hit the stores.

A freshman student Steve Barnes, at Kent State University, started Mountain Dew Doritos test after Pepsi distributed free samples at the university. He sampled "Dewitos" if it's going to be a nice combination. A report that he shared was then first seen on Reddit on Friday.

The new flavored soda tastes like orange with a Doritos after taste."It tasted like straight Doritos afterwards though," Barnes claims in Reddit. Aside from Mountain with Doritos, Barnes also experimented on mango habanero, lemon ginger, and rainbow sherbet, which he said taste like medicine.

As soon as the Mountain Dew Doritos becomes viral, PepsiCo has teamed up with Doritos for a taste test of the new "nacho-flavored chips, flavored soda." It is unbelievable to hear such flavored soda until a PepsiCo spokesman has confirmed the collaboration of PepsiCo and Doritos to Quartz.

"We are always testing out new flavors of Mountain Dew, and giving our fans a voice in helping decide on the next new product has always been important to us. We opened up the DEW flavor vault and gave students a chance to try this Doritos-inspired flavor as part of a small program at colleges and universities," PepsiCo statement to Quartz that was received via email.

It seems that Mountain Dew Doritos entry to the beverage market isn't the right timing. Recently, the sales of sodas have slumped down as the issues of obesity in America increases. In October, a soda backlash has been an issue after a study revealed soda reduces lifespan by 4.6 years.

New studies were also released that show people are now choosing healthier drinks over sodas as Americans are becoming aware of the unhealthy effects of sodas.

Do you think "Dewitos" will make it in the beverage market? Will you try it? According to some people who have taste tested it, the Mountain Dew Doritos tastes good. It is like you're drinking a drink with a cool ranch flavor.
