Chinese Former General Admits Bribes: Promotions And Favors In Return

Chinese General Bribes - Xu Caihou, the former vice chairman of China's Central Military Comission (CMC) has confessed to making trades with other people in the form of favors and admitting bribery.

On Tuesday, the case was questioned as to whether go to trial as it has been discovered that the bribery wasn't just on little scales, but rather the opposite.

"Xu was found to have taken advantage of his position to assist the promotions of others, accepting huge bribes personally and through his family, and to have sought profits for others in exchange for bribes," a report filed by Xinhua said.

In China, the corruption took to an incredible high level in the last years and so in 2012, a fierce anti-corruption campaign was started.

Then, in 2013, the Chinese former General was diagnosed with bladder cancer and is actually still undergoing treatment.

Apparently, the Chinese former General is not on the loop for the first time and has been under investigation since some months now, being announced on June, as the NY Times noted.

The monetary quantity in question wasn't mentioned. The bribes happened indeed, but there was no publication as to how much it truly was.

The important issue is the anti-corruption movement, which would not only be taking care of the Chinese former General's bribes, which permitted him giving favors in exchange for money.

Also, it would be proceeding with the campaign and making a point towards the tolerance of the same. Like it was stated before, the issues surrounding corruption in China have been severe and serious.

To add up, it seems like the Chinese former General was one of the main targets of President Xi Jinping to end corruption once and for all.

Coincidentally, the campaign begun on late 2012, and the Chinese former General left his charge at the same time.
