Do you know how much it costs to stay slim and runway ready like a Victoria's Secret Angel? It will cost you $109 per day. And here's why.
The VS Angels live on a diet program from Sakara Life. It's an all natural meal delivery service that serves vegetarian and plant-based foods.
Whitney Tingle and Danielle DuBoise, founders of Sakara Life, aims to feed people with good, un-processed, non-artificial real food.
Tingle claims that the Victoria's Secret Angels love the program, "... it's something they can do and still have energy." She then refers to the Instagram posts the models are posting online. To stay fit, the models work out using yoga, kick boxing, swimming and gym in order to prepare for the runway. "They're like athletes," Tingle said.
DuBoise helps the models by suggesting the Sakara Life meal plans. The models start the plan even before the much awaited show and they remain consistent for the whole year.
The Sakara Life meal plan starts early in the day at 5:30 AM. Right on your doorstep, a black bag is ready for your day. One key note to remember is that the company also takes into consideration if you have allergies or certain food types you dislike. They will adjust and make concessions.
A single day of packaged food will cost you $109. To break that down, it's $99 for the package plus a $10 shipping. When you open the bag, it will contain breakfast, lunch, dinner, a "morning water", a "night water" and a detox tea.
Tingle and DuBoise boasts that the products they serve are extremely fresh.
You start the day with the "morning water" to rehydrate your system. It contains rose, silica and minerals. For breakfast, a gluten free bagel made out of flax, chia, poppy seeds and hemp is prepared with a side of cashew cream with vegetables.
For lunch, there's a samosa wrap on greens served with khale and chutney dressing. To make it more interesting, turmeric is added.
The snacks are made from root vegetable chips and there's also the vanilla matcha ginseng protein bars.
For dinner, a special from a Le Bernardin chef. It's a salad of greens with zucchini, mushrooms, seeds and dressing.
And to cap off the night, the "night water"
The Sakara Life meal plan is a commitment and the program is designed to be a sustainable lifestyle that fits into your own life. This is what the Victoria's Secret models go through, but for one Business Insider that tried the diet, the meal that promotes eating already prepared healthy and clean food may not be affordable for all.
