Pizza Owner Still Shocked by Special Order For 2014 Oscars' Pizza-Fest

The 2014 Oscars was a night filled with surprises--from award winners to host Ellen DeGeneres surprising an audience of celebrities with pizza from Big Mama's & Papa's Pizzeria on Sunset Boulevard.

Still, E! News reported that no one was more surprised than pizzeria owner, Wayne Grigorian.

During Sunday's live telecast, DeGeneres dragged a pizza delivery guy from backstage to help hand out slices of pizza to nominees and other celebrities and, despite rumors that the funny lady preplanned the pizza-feat, Grigorian insisted that he had no knowledge of the surprise until he saw it on the television.

"We didn't know nothing about it," Grigorian told E! News, adding that the talk show is a regular customer.

The restaurant owner said he received a call from his daughter, asking him if he was watching television. Grigorian said during the time, he was working on his computer.

"She said, 'Turn the television on because you guys are delivering pizza to the Oscars.' I said, 'What?" Grigorian said.

When turning on the television, Grigorian said he recognized one of his delivery guys, who worked in the Hollywood area, which is walking distance from the Dolby Theatre on Sunset Boulevard, where the 86th annual Academy Awards were being held.

Grigorian told E! News that the delivery man's name is Edgar and that he knows him "very well." He also added that he could not believe that "this guy [was] delivering pizza on the stage at the Oscars!"

"It was quite exciting, it was quite amazing," Grigorian said. "I was stunned. I couldn't even talk. What is going on here? We were not even aware of that. It was quite a surprise. It was a very pleasant surprise."

Grigorian added: "I guess they felt hungry at the time and wanted to order some pizza and decided to order from us. We appreciate that. We are very much grateful to her."

With major publicity from the Oscars, Grigorian said the number of pizza being sold skyrocketed, even calling the experience "unbelievable" and comparing it to winning the lottery.

"Last night, because we have online ordering service here, and our online orders started all of a sudden pouring," Grigorian told E! News. "We were getting orders in frequency of one every minute, we were not ready for that. We knew were gonna get some orders because of the Oscars, but this event it made it unbelievable...It's a wonderful thing."
