Blake Shelton admitted that this year's CMA Awards is going to be weird for him as he will be walking alone the red carpet for the first time in eight years.
Bumping into Miranda is not the only thing the country singer's concerned about but the possibility that the CMA cohost Brad Paisley might bring up and joke about his recent divorce.
"This year's gonna be awkward at the CMAs, speaking of jokes," Blake admitted on "Late Night With Seth Meyers." There's gotta be one about me and Miranda. Brad Paisley is not doing his job if he doesn't look down there and go 'Ha ha!' You have to address the elephant in the room. We've had the conversations like, 'Okay, dude. I'll sit there and let you kick me in the face a few times.' I know it's coming."
But though it is going to be a weird moment for him, he said it will still be a cool moment for him "Because we are, it's such a family. Everybody there is friends," he said.
It was in July when Shelton and Lambert announced about their divorce. The estranged couple's statement said, "This is not the future we envisioned. And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter."
But both stars remained good friends and stayed friendly on social media. They even reportedly managed the split through music and for Shelton aside from music, he is also doing some physical activities, including household chores to get through with it.
"I realized this summer that my lawn needed mowing," the 'Voice' mentor said backstage during an interview, according to E! News.
