Supergirl TV Series: The Villains and Season 1 Plot, MAJOR SPOILER Alert

Before anything else, please read at your own risk. This article contains spoilers. If you don't wish to know what's in store for Supergirl Season 1, then divert your eyes right now. The Villains, major plot and interesting tidbits for the coming episodes are coming your way.

So, assuming you've already seen the Season Premiere of Supergirl Episode 1 on CBS then you've already learned about Kara Zor-El's (as played by Melissa Benoist) past and her impending future. In the opening series, Kara tells her story about her mission to protect her cousin. Her mission was delayed when her spaceship was sucked into the Phantom Zone. Some twenty years later, she emerged out of the Phantom Zone, still as a 13 year old girl, only to find out that her cousin didn't need protecting anymore. The first episode goes on to reveal that Kara wanted to protect the city and be able to do what her superhero cousin did as well. As a lowly assistant to a socialite executive, she came out of her shell and saved her human sister from a plane crash. Ultimately revealing the doom that awaits her. It is now known to the villain world that she is the daughter of the woman who incarcerated the Fort Rozz prisoners to the Phantom Zone and they will stop at nothing to exact revenge.

And what's up next for our superhero? Kara will be facing a host of criminals. The aliens that were sucked into the Phantom Zone from Fort Rozz are out to get her. In the first episode's ending, the big bad General was Kara's aunt - her mother's twin sister - Astra. Astra doesn't care if blood is thicker than space water. Her eyes are set on taking over the earth. EW sits down with executive producer Andrew Kreisberg to get the nitty gritty of Supergirl Season 1.

Andrew Kreisberg tells EW that it's an interesting twist in the superhero universe. Our Supergirl doesn't only have a sad story, but her arch-enemy is also a family member. This is going to put Kara in a tough spot.

The tough spot, Kreisberg reveals, will be the moment Kara and Astra confront each other. Astra tells Kara, "I'm here to save the Earth," and goes on to say that she has seen one planet die and will not see one die again. Confusing isn't it? Both sort of have the same motives but goes about it in a different way.

And what about the prisoners of Fort Rozz? When they crashed onto Earth, the same time Kara's spaceship landed, they all ran and went into hiding. But some jail-breakers aren't all bad guys. These guys just want to live. This will put Kara to the test, on what kind of hero she chooses to become.

Are we expecting something fantastic from Kara this season? Kreisberg says that's a definite yes. Kara has some superpowers she is not aware of and will be revealed on the show. And what about Kara's love interests? Is she going to be romantically linked with Winn? In the next episode, Winn tells Kara, "I liked you before I found out about the S."

Hold on until the next episode. Supergirl airs on CBS - Mondays at 8:00 PM ET.
