The exclusive McRib is back at McDonald's.

Just weeks after it was reintroduced to the U.S. menu at McDonald's, raw footage of the McRib has been circulating the Internet. A picture of the frozen, ribbed pork patties before they were covered in barbecue sauce and served up with pickles and onions was posted online by an anonymous worker.

According to Business Insider, a Reddit user DJDanaK claims a friend who's employed by the company snapped a photo and sent it to him. The photo quickly went viral, with fans of the classic 1980s menu option divided over whether it would ruin their appetite.  

"My buddy works at McDonald's and sent me this photo of a raw McRib meat," DJDanaK posted.

On Reddit, one reader said, "What the hell were you expecting? Real rib meat?" 

While others agreed, asking shocked readers if before they saw the image they thought McDonald's would be "carving rib meat in the back." 

"One reason our customers love the McRib is its fun and wonderful shape," a McDonald's spokesman told The Huffington Post in an e-mail. "Just like a burger patty is formed to be round and flat, we form the iconic McRib in the shape of traditional ribs. We then flash freeze the patty to seal in flavor and freshness, just like you freeze meat in your own freezer, before going to our restaurants."

The McRib has become something of a legend for its on-and-off appearances on McDonald's menus. 

On the Facebook McRib Locator Page, fans of the porky treat share information on which McDonald's branches are selling it, and boast about the number they have eaten since it was reintroduced.
